Well, Linda, you sound very organized and smart in how you are balancing social media, writing and LIFE! You also sound much more technically astute than I. I’m with you about how stressful it feels when you need a blog for the next day. I really can’t create in tension. When I had four or five blogs already in the hopper *one glorious time* I felt more relaxed to do my novel writing. Good blog! Good advice.

Women as Action Heroes

Weapons and Women Characters (given there are differences in how women handle weapons)

And since I’m former military and military science fiction is popular, The Experience of Women in the Military (there was a female Marine writer at Ravencon).

Great video! So much advice is focused on writing and hardly anything on taking time off from it. Many years ago, I was trying to break into screenwriting, and I literally went from one script to the next without stopping, writing a script a week. After about 20 scripts, I burned myself out so completely that I had writer’s block for 2 years.

Now that I’m writing regularly, I make sure I take a day to do something else. Today, I went to Leesylvania State Park and visited the beach and stopped in at the Marine Corps Museum. Of course, there, I started taking research notes — can’t fully get away from writing, but at least I was away from the production side.
